Dr. Thomas Hatfield is an internationally known World War Two scholar and the Director of the Military History Institute at the University of Texas at Austin. Each year he leads historical tours to Normandy for the study of the Allied invasion to liberate Europe.
He is also my dad.
This is a very special trip. For the first time, as our entire family is going. When I say 'entire',' I mean EVERYONE. Kids, grandkids, even a couple of in-laws thrown in. The age range is 10 to 79. My mother has given specific instructions to photo-document and present her with a book. It's good to know in June what to give for Christmas.
